Launch
originator David Wheelwright has over 25 years experience in the design and
development of glass and plastic packaging, working initially for PLM Redfearn
Glass as Product Designer, and in 1990 transferring full time to Redfearn Plastics
(the PET division) as Technical Manager.
He stayed with the same company through a number of changes in structure and
ownership including Wellstar, Constar, and Crown Cork & Seal. David has
worked extensively in mainland Europe, including a one year placement in Holland
as part of the Wellstar Corporate
Development Team.
David has designed and developed a number of award winning packs including PET
bottles for Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola, Tango, Sprite, Fanta,
Dr Pepper, Schweppes Mixers, and 7-Up. In 1995 his 1L hot fill juice bottle
for Britvic Soft Drinks won a Starpacks Gold award, and a special award for
Technical Innovation. This container subsequently secured a WorldStar packaging
award.
